Slumdog Millionaire.

Wow it’s been 5 years since this movie came out.

The story of Jamal Malik trying to find the love of his life, Latika. Who every time he reunites with they instantly get separated. With last hopes, he finds his way as a contestant on the popular Indian version of the show “Who Wants to be a Millionaire?” Hoping & kind of knowing she would be watching.

Let me tell you, I think it’s MAD cool how he knew all the answers through life experiences. Not that his life is great but come on I had to learn about stuff through textbooks!!! Ugh! Lol

Let me tell you what’s NOT cool, the fact that Anil Kapoors character constantly calls him “chywalla”! Like hello! He has a name and it’s Jamal!! Would you like it if people called you, “who wants to be a millionaire host”? Or “TV host”?. That’s rude!!

Okay, final thoughts (cause it’s 1 am & like really? Who is reading this?? Lol):

The “Swades” ringtone on Salims phone - GENIUS (ill rant about that movie another day)

Salim is the worst brother ever BUT dies in a pretty gangster way! Dramatic but gangster.

The young kids in this movie are adorable!! Like I can’t!!

A.R. Rahman does a great job with the music!!

& The ending of this movie ruins everything!!! I was so in love with the movie until the song & dance happened. Why?? Why?

Really good movie though. Has a good balance of the realities of India and doesn’t forget the Bollywood touch with the songs & dancing & what not. But PLEASE don’t be mistaken! India is way MORE than poverty & slum kids.

I didn’t focus on the actual sadness of this movie cause 1. I didn’t wanna 2. I’m not trying to be that activist person on a movie blog. 3. It’s 1 in the morning. And 4. I’m a happy person.

Kk this might’ve been a rather long rant. I’m super sorry if you’re bored; BUT thank you if you read all the way here and if you liked it!! =)

It’s not an everyday watch but if you haven’t watched it yet, buddy you’re 5 years late and missing out!!

Enjoy…kinda
